Ksamil beach is a beautiful beach on the west coast of the Albanian Riviera – by what is called the Adriatic Coast. Ksamil beach is sandy and is therefore well suited for families. The water is crystal clear and azure blue.
There are sun loungers available and you can expect to pay around 10 euros for these. In high season the beach is very popular and it may therefore be an idea to look for smaller and quieter places nearby. This is especially true for those who want relaxation and silence.
To get to Ksamil beach, take a flight to either Tirana, which is the capital of Albania – or Corfu island. Note that Corfu belongs to Greece, so you must have a visa to both countries. From Tirana you take a bus, car or taxi. The trip takes about 5 hours. If you go via Corfu, you take the ferry. This trip takes 30-60 minutes, then there is a short trip by bus or taxi to the beach.
Ksamil town is located on a peninsula with some small islands outside. These are called Ksamil Islands. The main beach – Ksamil beach is on the peninsula connected with the mainland. You can walk from Ksamil town. However – visiting the islands is highly recommended. The four islands are green, beautiful and have crystal clear water. The beaches are unique and well worth a visit if you have the opportunity. Some skilled swimmers choose to swim out. Others use a kayak or paddleboat that can be rented in the area.
